Responsibilities |
Lead quality improvement projects
- Independently performs and coordinates professional level work; formulation of new approaches and techniques subject to the approval of superiors. Broad authority within functional policies and practices with general managerial direction
- Design and develop a well written project outline that includes experimental objectives, time required, needed resources and project constraints.
- Collect data from these trials using six sigma tools to interpret results, formulate conclusions and recommendations for improvements based on statistical analysis.
- Accountable for on time delivery of all assigned projects and related documentation.
- Utilize project management concepts with active participation and/or leadership in project teams.
Work with plant personnel and others to troubleshoot problems
- Formulates, applies, and supervises complex and involved methods requiring highly accurate analysis, evaluation and appraisal on a professional plane.
- Adherence to standards and polices
- Food Safety and Quality issues
- Processing equipment problems
- Other items which directly or indirectly affect the quality, food safety or trademark of products and processes.
Assist in the development of procedures and processes which ensure continued improvement to product quality
- Moderate responsibility for equipment damage, product quality, and/or customer dissatisfaction.
- Internal contacts with other departments on somewhat controversial or technical matters; some external contacts on routine matters.
- Membership on cross functional teams with other departments including Research and Development, Operations, Sales and Marketing
- Assist other departments in understanding and implementing corporate quality objectives.
- Keep up to date on all developing technologies and items related to quality improvement, quality management and quality systems.
Review Current Scientific and Industry Literature and All other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
- Read current technical, trade and scientific journals, and attend vendor seminars on new equipment and methods.
- Review new methods and equipment and advise said items for application to meet research and testing needs.

Qualifications |
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in related field OR equivalent education/experience which includes 10 plus years industry specific experience
- Project Management training.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools
- Five to eight years experience in the dairy industry working with processing equipment and quality related systems.
- A working knowledge of laboratory testing and procedures in relation to dairy and food products.
